Hi everyone, We had a great time in Ardmore, hope the participants did as well. Because there will be some time between when you can actually start using Resource Sharing and CatExpress and your training, Sam is graciously offering webinars to refresh our memories closer to the October 1 “go live” date.  I’ll post on the blog as soon as we determine these dates.

Also the time for each Training: They will all  begin at 9:00 and Resource Sharing will end before 4:00 and CatExpress at 12:00.  I may have one extra person than computers for the 18th and 19th, so if someone would volunteer to share a computer those days it would be great. We can work something out when you get here.

I hope you will enjoy the training. I think you will find OCLC easy and manageable and I can’t wait for us to get started.

This is for everyone going to Ardmore for the 2 days there. The room number at Southern Oklahoma Technology Center is 202, it’s in the North part of building A (this is the main building) You go in the front door and hang to the right. The first hallway on your right is where 202 is. The first door on your right. (the number is by the doorway so this is what I call an easy time) .  You should be there by 9:00 am. We should end around 4:00 on the first day and around noon on the second day.

Thank Pat Weaver-Meyers and Shirley Thatcher at Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation for all their help with accomodations. They have been great!

I look forward to seeing everyone in the upcoming training. We have a great OCLC trainer coming from Portland, Oregon, and his name is Sam Sayre. He’ll be able to answer all your questions. The training will go through August and in September we’ll work on getting your holdings into OCLC.
Officially we will start OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing and CatExpress on October 1st. Ron Glass, our regional OCLC Senior Library Services Consultant, will be attending some of the trainings, in the meantime he is getting your OCLC profile set up. You will all have OCLC symbols.

The email everyone has been waiting for! The sign up  for training will be on the blog, http://worldcat.oklibshare.org/  please put in a comment and tell me the library and which place and training you will want to attend. Until I can get final numbers on seats we’re going to limit to two per library, per training session. So you can have 2 for a Resource Sharing training and 2 for CatExpress  until spots have been claimed.

All day is 9:00 to 4:00 with a lunch break and ½ day is 9:00 to 12:00. Lunch is on your own and all locations have eating places close by.
